College Student Attempts Food Blogging, Only Knows How to Cook Mac & Cheese.

Hi there! My name is Natalie.

Natalie, your culinary sherpa, circa 2005.

Both of my parents are chefs. They spend their time in kitchens, contributing to society by creating delicious works of art. I, on the other hand, am a 21-year-old, almost college graduate. I spend my time browsing the internet, looking at my cat & various dogs, and telling people I am doing homework.  My biggest culinary claim to fame is the mac & cheese casserole* I once made in 2016, which my mother said was, and I quote, “Very Good.”

The thing is, I like the idea of cooking. It seems very rewarding…heck, seeing someone enjoy your food is rewarding, but as a 21-year-old almost college graduate who spends her time saying she is busy while being very not busy, I don’t spend nearly as much time as I could focusing on my nutrition. I live at home, y’all-–we have food, waiting to be prepared, yet a common dinner for me is a handful of Kix cereal and 6 Ritz crackers…

That’s where this blog comes into play.

I am not saying that my nutrition will get any better, but maybe, I’ll be able to be more creative with the ingredients I have, forcing me to find some semblance of nutrition along the way.

So, here are the rules:

  1. Once a week, I must document at least one meal I ate.
  2. A picture or video of the finished product & list of ingredients must be provided.
  3. Each meal must contain at least 3 ingredients, not including seasonings.
  4. Each entry will include a review of the dish.
  5. I can’t repeat dishes during the month.

Hopefully, by challenging myself in this way (it’s a challenge for me, OK?), I’ll be forced into developing some critical adult skills, like eating properly and not injuring myself every time I use a kitchen appliance!

So, that’s me and my blog! Thanks for checking it out! Tell your friends/family/co-workers/pets to follow me on this journey towards culinary bliss.

*I have since lost the mac & cheese recipe.
